Vipers add Bourgeois for 2021-22

The Vernon Vipers announced the addition of 2004-born forward Adam Bourgeois for the 2021-22 BC Hockey League season. Bourgeois, who’s from Kelowna, BC, didn’t get into any games with the Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA team in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He had three goals and 19 points in 21 games with the Okanagan Rockets U16 AAA squad in 2019-20. That season, Bourgeois also played one game with the Rockets U18 AAA team as an affiliate player but didn’t register any points.

Nash to fly with the Jets in 2021-22

Forward Riley Nash (38 goals, 46 assists in 56 games with Salmon Arm from 2006-07) has signed a one-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets worth $750,000. Nash, a 32-year-old from Consort, AB, had two goals and seven points in 37 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2020-21.

He was traded to Toronto by the Blue Jackets at the trade deadline but didn’t play any regular season games with the Maple Leafs due to injury. Nash was scoreless in a pair of playoff games with Toronto.

Poolman inks an extension with the Flames

Defenseman Colton Poolman (three goals, 37 assists in 57 games with Penticton in 2015-16) has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Calgary Flames worth $750,000 million per season.

Poolman, 25, had a goal and six points in 21 games with the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League in 2020-21. It was the East Grand Forks, MN product’s first pro season after four years at the University of North Dakota.

Roach gets a try-out with Kölner Haie

Defenseman Alex Roach (no points in four games with Quesnel in 2009-10) has signed a try-out contract with Kölner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

The 28-year-old from Schongau, GER had a goal and eight assists in 31 games with Löwen Frankfurt of the DEL2 in 2020-21.
