Bulldogs bring in Tremblay

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs announced the commitment of 2005-born defenseman Caden Tremblay on Sunday.

He played two games with the North Island Silvertips of the BC U18 League this season but didn’t register on the scoresheet. Tremblay had 27 points in 30 games with the U15 Silvertips in 2019-20.

It’s unknown if the Port Alberni product is committed for this season or 2021-22. Tremblay was an eighth-round draft pick of the Medicine Hat Tigers in the 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Spiridakis leaves Prince George for Boston

2002-born forward Austin Spiridakis is gone from the Prince George Spruce Kings and has joined the Boston Junior Bruins of the National Collegiate Development Conference.

The St. Albert, Alberta product is committed to attend Quinnipiac University this coming September. He had a goal and an assist in four games with the Spruce Kings during the BCHL extended training season.

Spiridakis, who was acquired by Prince George in a trade from Alberni Valley last June, made his Junior Bruins debut in Sunday’s 4-3 overtime win against the Islanders Hockey Club.

Kehler and Jones head to Manitoba’s training camp

Goaltender Cole Kehler (18-24-0, 3.84 GAA, .898 SV% in 43 games with Merritt in 2015-16) has signed a one-year contract with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and will attend training camp with the team.

The 23-year-old from Altona, Manitoba was 14-10-4 with a 3.05 goals-against-average, a .901 save percentage, and two shutouts in 31 games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL in 2019-20.

Forward Nick Jones (46 goals, 79 assists in 100 games with Penticton from 2015-17) signed a pro tryout with the Moose.

Jones, a 24-year-old from Edmonton, had nine goals and 10 assists in 61 games with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack as a rookie in 2019-20.

Ladd and Brubacher to attend Bridgeport’s training camp

Forward Andrew Ladd (15 goals, 40 assists in 58 games with Coquitlam in 2002-03) is on the roster of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers for their training camp.

The 35-year-old from Maple Ridge, BC had 11 goals and three assists in 34 games with the Sound Tigers in 2019-20. He added one goal in four games with the New York Islanders.

Defenseman Adam Brubacher (18 goals, 31 assists in 58 games with Prince George and Powell River in 2015-16) is also on Bridgeport’s training camp roster after signing an AHL contract for 2020-21 last April.

Brubacher, 25, wrapped up a four-year college career at the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2019-20, where he served as captain of the Tigers. The Elmira, Ontario product finished with 106 points in 148 NCAA career games.
