Eagles add Kern to their blueline in a trade with Powell River

He got into four regular season games and two playoff games with Powell River as a 16-year-old affiliate player in 2018-19.

Kern was selected in the 10th round, 217th overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2017 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
